peace and quiet in the keys?

I am dreaming of a quiet, secluded spot in the keys close to or on the beach, a local bar but otherwise quiet....some where so dark at night that you feel you are in the sky...is that possible to find in the keys?

Like the Keys too Apr 24th, 2001 03:31 PM

in reality- key west is very slow except around Duval St and mallory dock. where all the taverns are located. The rest of the island looks like it fell out of san francisco. And it really doesn't have a "beach". Try Bahia Honda State Park just north of Big Pine Key for quiet and seclusion. They have rustic cabins that you can rent. Anywhere in the Keys other than key west is fine for relaxing...Tavernier, Islamorada, and Largo are great and have big name national chain hotels. Come in April or may and beat the heat and rain.
