Peabody Hotel to Epcot

My husband is attending a conference at the Peabody Hotel on International Drive and I am going along. We will not have a car. The hotel was not very helpful re advice on how to get to Epcot from the hotel. There is a shuttle that runs up and down International Drive but none from the hotel to Epcot. Any info or advice?

You can find specials on rental cars in Florida for as little as $20 per day. That is what I would do.

I agree about the car rental. You can also see if the mears shuttle runs by the hotel but I imagine it may take over an hour to get to your destination. The Peabody is very nice, be sure to see the duck walk. Have a great time.

It's a long distance and even longer if you cannot take I-4. Rent a car.

Seems to me there was a Marketplace somewhere on International Drive that shuttles back and forth to the parks. So you would just need to switch shuttles at that point. Long trip though.

I agree - rent a car. You will be glad you did.

Renting a car would be ideal but I was interested in learning if there was a good way to get there WITHOUT a car and learning if anyone had tried it. Thanks.

Honestly I cannot think of an easier way of going to Epcot than driving. Taxi and shuttle would be more expensive than a car rental.

We stayed at the Peabody about two years ago and I have to agree with the other posters--rent a car, it really came in handy :-)

Thank you for your kind responses. I couldn't agree with you more that a car would be ideal and easier, however, we are going to Orlando for business and not vacation. My husband will be at the hotel, working every day except one. On that one day we will go to Epcot. I don't care to go to Disneyland alone and will thus stay at the hotel, swim, use the gym, study, etc. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi Ronda, I was there for the same reason but didn't use the car to go to the parks--just to get out and about. There's a great outdoor mall within easy walking distance from the hotel. I found myself hanging out by the pool, reading, more than anything--I hope you enjoy a nice trip :-)

I totally understand. Renting a car means rental fee, taxes, aggravation of driving in a strange area, liability, and parking fees. Why not take the cheap trolley to near Epcot and then catch a cab?

http://www.peabodyorlando.com/asp/bg...asp?page=IRide has a link to reach someone to get specifics of how to do it.

The shuttle was perfectly easy - $6 each way. We did not stay until after the firworks so don't know if it would have been more crowded then.

Also took a taxi - $25 one way to epcot.
