waiting on passport for trip to china what can i do to get them expedited?? in chicago

egret Jul 19th, 2007 04:58 PM

If you didn't request for them to be expedited when you ordered your passport, I don't think there's much you can do now.

Not true! Two weeks before your travel date you can call and have them expedited. How long have they been in processing?

Here's my thread on what we did:

charly1, I should have said to read the whole thread, paying particular attention to the last post. Hope it helps! :)

If you are traveling within the next week or two, call your congressman.

BayouGal Jul 19th, 2007 07:36 PM

Charly, if you are traveling within 14 days, you can go to the Passport Agency nearest you and get the passport you already applied for that day. You should phone their toll-free number to find out the details, what you will need to bring with you, and any forms you will need to download off their internet site.

If you have not applied for a passport yet, but need a passport for upcoming travel, you can phone the toll-free number and make an appointment at the nearest Passport Agency to go there and get your passport within 14 days of your travel. You will need a certified birth certificate, gov issued photo ID, proof of travel dates and destination, and the confirmation number of your Passport Agency appointment.

Good luck! :)

Did this person ever come back to his/her threads? I think he/she had 2 or 3 of them on their predicament.

I'm pretty sure you can call at any time to have a passport expedited...I did so a month before travel and it had been about two months after we sent in the renewal.
