My philosophy about ALL photos:

You may hate them now, but in 10 years you're going to look at them and think, "Damn! I was so good lookin back then!"
:-((

Icuy, I am laughing about your comment to no end because it is sooooo true!! I hated every passport photo at the time and know I think "wow, that is a really good photo" Same with all past photos. However I truly I do not think 9 years from now I will look at my recent passport photo and think it is great, but than again I may. Now that is a scary thought!

My passport photo looks like my mother wearing a fright wig. I have managed to get a smile out of the immigration guys at the Canada/US border occasionally by acting really insulted when they hand my passport back without comment - I say "You're supposed to say that doesn't look like me!"

AAA does passport photos in its offices. Depending on what level of membership you have with AAA, they will be free or with a small charge. And they are digital, so you can request it over and over until it comes out right.

A tip for all the ladies who hate their passport/drivers photos. One my regularly scheduled haircut day, I had my hair styled and had my makeup done. My Aveda salon offers a makeup touch up after any styling. I told the girl that I was headed to have my license renewed and wanted "photo makeup". She did a great job and I went directly to the license bureau. Its a pretty good picture. Did the same thing for my passport photo - only this time I had hubby take the photos at home with our digital camera. Just kept snapping until I liked one. Took it to the local photo shop to print in passport acceptable format and size. It didn't transform me into Nicole Kidman - but it is better than all the other "Day of the Dead" photos I had used.
