Would like to know the most enjoyable vineyards with good wines and best restaurants.

I don't get over there as much as I would like, but my personal favorites from my trip this year were Shale Oak, Sextant and Pear Valley. Pear Valley's setting is off the beaten path but gorgeous views of the vineyards they are surrounded by and the wine was excellent! We usually pack a lunch and eat at a winery, so no recommendations on restaurants. However, there is a great deli in Templeton where we get sandwiches and salads. Templeton is small and the deli is on the main street of town. You should be able to find it if you decide to look for it! We did just find a great sandwich shop in Cambria on the main street of town on the north end. I think it was called Sandy's. Across the street in Main Street Grill which is good for burgers and we love their pulled pork sandwiches!

Thanks, srianda, for the suggestions. We love the Cambria-Paso Robles area. You may be four years late for Snico50, but you're right on time for us.

Thanks for the heads up for the deli in Templeton. We are down in that area several times during the year.

If anyone else is still interested in this thread - there are a number of cute B&B's/Wineries along route 46 - that heads west from Paso Robles and comes out at the Coast by Cambria.

Why all the concern about how old the thread is or how it was found? I find the discussion useful as we are thinking about a trip to Paso in the spring, and so does MichelleY.

Justin makes some awesome wine, tomsd! One of their reps gave a presentation at our local wine shop that sparked our interest in visiting Paso Robles.

RiverStar has a nice rental next to the winery. Not a b&B, but a nice 3 BR house. Wines are Ok.
Eberle on SR 46 a couple of miles east makes some really good reds. I think 1 of them was in Wine Spectator's Top 100. Also, for Zinfandel Turley off Vineyard Drive is hard to beat.
In Paso itself, Il Cortile is an outstanding Italian restaurant. A very popular winery is Tobin James, the first your come to if you are heading into Paso Robles from the east of SR 46.

Sure-it doesn't matter that much in the scheme of things. But srianda was obviously responding to the specific OP, so I was curious how she found such an old thread.
