Guenmai, have you visted Nonna's or Mama's pizzeries in South Pasadena? Just wondering which one you like better if you go that far down the road for pizza.

No, I don't go that far down the road for pizza. When, I'm in South Pasadena, I'm usually in a hurry and just pick up a bite to eat at Panda Express (That one is the test kitchen one and very good. Panda Restaurant is originally from Pasadena and is still there on Foothill Blvd).
I also grab a bite at Bristol gourmet grocery store or the health food store next door to Vons grocery store on Fair Oaks. They have very good food and the best muffins I've ever tasted. I've been going there for over a decade.

I think I've only eaten at 4 real restaurants in South Pasadena. We have so many great ones up in Pasadena, that I really don't need to go down there to eat. Smiles. Happy Travels!

Thanks, Guenmai, I didn't realize that about Panda, interesting. Maybe we will run into each other at one of the Pasadena restaurants some time, we can compare our favorites.

Sounds like fun. There's that great Japanese/French inspired restaurant on Mission right at Fair Oaks....south side of Mission and a few steps west of Fair Oaks. It's quite famous. I can't remember the name of it. I think I last ate there around 8 years ago. It was very good. Happy Travels!

Shiro is the upscale South Pas restaurant on Mission near Fair Oaks.

In SP we like Patakan on Fair Oaks (across from McDonalds) for take-out Thai. Saladang Song in Pasadena is one of our favorites.

Mama's and Nonni's both have better-than-average pizza but I just hate the access/parking at Mama's (it used to be a KFC in the old days!)

As for Saladang Song, I know it well. Have been eating there since it opened. I had my Pasadena GTG there and the owner is a friend of mine. Happy Travels!
