crap, i just purchased tix for Wicked--in Orchestra Row J--great, but seats 28/30--should i get rid of these??

Keep them. I've seen many shows partial view, including balcony seats, and the last row in the mezzanine on the far end. it's a great show, and all the important action is staged towards the middle. You will probably only be unable to see the far side of the stage on the side you are sitting. You won't miss much, and you'll hear everything.

I agree with MF from NYC. You will not see some of the scenery, but you will see virtually all of the important action. I would rather have seats on the side in row J than many other equally costly possibilities.

I would agree to keep them too, especially since I can't imagine how you can get better ones. I'm much rather be there than way up in the balcony. And being the well-designed theatre that the Gershwin is, you wont' have heads in front of you, nor will much of anything be blocked from view, except a bit of the upstage left scenery and maybe a few people in the full stage scenes. Most of the major action is played so far forward, I think you really won't miss much of anything, and at least you'll be able to see facial expressions -- something you can't get from way back and up.

I agree with the others, especially since there's no alternative to see the show unless you want to pay $200-300+ per ticket!
(But, another part of says get rid of the tickets, since I'm one those in the minority who didn't like the show!)

Howard, I'm with you on the appeal of Wicked. I saw a first-rate touring production in Seattle that totally left me cold; however, there were five others in our theater party who loved the show while I left the theater singing the scenery. HTTY

We had center orchestra seats, but didn't enjoy "Wicked" either. We left at intermission and gave our tickets to two young ladies outside.

We have row Y orchestra seats for Wicked. Will we be able to see faces?

I saw Hairspray at the Neil Simon Theatre. We were in row Y and could see the faces. Is the seating angled at all (similar to stadium seating)? I found this chart of the Gershwin Theatre http://www.broadwaybox.com/images/th...in_theatre.gif

I don't think there were any bad seats at Neil Simon.
