Parking in San Francisco

I'm shocked at the rates for parking in San Fran - up to $35 a day. Need parking garage for rental car near convention center. Hotel parking to expensive. Any suggestions?

Park outside of the downtown area and take BART to the Moscone Center.
Better yet, skip the rental car and use public transit entirely.
BART's cheap and close to the Moscone, and will take you all over the Bay area.

Thanks Jack. I just need a car for two days for a couple of side trips. Will use BART the rest of the time.

There are lots of car rental places downtown. The last time I went to San Francisco, I just rented a car by the day. You probably won't get a better daily rate unless you rent by the week anyway. Check and see if there isn't a car rental place right by your hotel. We stay at the Hotel Monaco near Union Square and there were several right around us.

Thanks Don.
I didn't think of doing that. It would certainly save on parking fees.
