Parking in San Fran

Am planning a trip in a few weeks to SF. We will have a car and am wondering how available parking is downtown and around SF . Thought I better be prepared as some cities are horrible/expensive that way.

Readily available and very expensive! (hotels routinely charge $40-50 a day; my office building charges $30 a day, but you can't leave the car overnight)

Downtown - as dmlove said
around SF - where around??? Some areas will be difficult, and other areas will not be a problem.

I'd be curious as to the answer to parking, too. I will be staying near AT&T Park - on a home game weekend, no less. From Thursday evening to Sunday morning we will need somewhere to put the car as we plan to pretty much use public transportation while in the city. What are the best options near 2nd and Brannan/Bryant?

Julie, about a block from AT&T, there is an apartment building that has a nice (meaning clean and nicely lit) underground public garage. The name of the building is The Beacon. I'm not sure of the cost or whether they permit overnight parking.

There are many smaller outdoor lots around the ballpark. There prices go up and down with the "market" - from $10 per evening to $40 (if it's the Dodgers and a pennant race!)

>>and a pennant race<,

you're kidding !!!

Well, that's why parking should be less than $40 this year!! (let's all just be happy the Dodgers are in last place today....LOL)
