Um, I'm not gonna park on the street. Honest, mister. :-S

I appreciate it, Abs, but I just need one garage, one parking spot, for 6 days. I'm not planning to move the car one inch. There's definitely parking in the building and tons, it seems, in the neighbourhood.

There's a big open lot between 57-58th on 11th ave., day rates are about $8.00, can't imagine 24 hour parking being that much more. they have a free shuttle that takes you into mid-town. My mom parks her mercedes there all the time.

Wow, owlwoman, that's good to know about at any time! thanks!

Definitely check iconparkingsystems.com as recommended by one poster; we have used it many times for parking in NYC; reliable and good prices - anywhere from $8/day to $20, depending on neighborhood; midtown west should be quite reasonable.

Make sure that the lot you use is open 24 hours a day. Some of those outdoor lots close around 11pm. You wouldn't want to leave your car on a lot without security.
