Parking in downtown Philadelphia

Will be in town for 2 nights for the flower show. Staying at the Downtown Courtyard Marriot and hotel parking is $30 a night. Any suggestions for less expensive parking options near by and secure? Thanks!!!

Depending on how far you are willing to walk, there are several parking garages and lots near the Convention Center. All charge about the same exorbitant rates, although you can definitely do better than $30 a day. You will NOT get "in and out" privileges at any of them, but you won't need your car anyway. You may wish to drop off your luggage and all but one person at the Marriott, and then go looking around for a garage close enough and at a rate you can stomach.

Depending on where you are coming from, the Amtrak station is only 1.2 miles from your hotel. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/...phia-downtown/
Bringing a car into the city to pay $31/day to have it parked there while you are at the Flower Show doesn't make sense to me.
Take a taxi, subway or bus in the city.

Last year I found discount coupons for several lots by "Googling." They still weren't "cheap" -- but the savings helped.

At the website below I clicked on a location that seemed close to your hotel-- and got a rate of $18 for 24 hours.

It would be very easy to take the subway from your hotel to the flower show to avoid additional parking fees at the Convention Center--and avoid the "in and out" fees at the discount lots. It would require a couple of blocks of walking.

Have a great time. I'm jealous

I think it would be easier to walk the two blocks from the Downtown Courtyard Marriott, at 21 Juniper Street, to the Convention Center, which is at 13th and Arch.

Plan to pay about $15 for 24 hours of downtown parking, with no in-and-out privileges. Fortunately, the place you're staying will allow you to (1) park your car when you arrive, (2) never need to use your car even one time, to get to any place of interest, and (3) take your car out of the garage only when it's time to leave. I can pretty much guarantee you'll never need the "in-and-out" ability of your $30 per day hotel parking choice.

I should mention that, if it's only yourself coming here to Philly, you may well save money by NOT driving your car to get here. You'll DEFINITELY save time and aggravation if you take mass transit.

And, BTW, I'm glad you'll be enjoying the Flower Show here! Welcome!!

The plans are already set to drive to Philly and stay at the downtown Courtyard.
The $31 self-parking fee mentioned in the hotel reservation doesn't have in/out privileges (it's at a non-Marriott owned garage). There is a $38 valet parking fee the hotel offers with in-out but will cost more like $45 with hotel tax! It looks like we will not need in-out, and the central parking sites closest to us are $25. Since we don't have a lot of extra time, we will do the self-park,and just ante up the $31.
Thanks for the suggestions!
