Parking in downtown Denver

At the end of August my family and I will be staying at a hotel near Denver Convention Center for a long weekend. Are there parking lots/garages cheaper than the $22/day at the hotel? Thanks.

Actually $22 a day is not a bad rate for a major city downtown parking. Less that a dollar an hour. We are just back from Chicago and I think the going rate was closer to $50/day.

I assume you are driving in and the car is not an option.

Since I almost never drive (and therefore, have to park) in downtown Denver, I am not sure of the current pricing. Several of the big surface lots recently have been remove that probably has allowed for some price increases. There are a number of small surface lots along 14th and 15th that will have clearly posted rates for overnight parking. (CCenter is on 14th). Independence Plaza between 16th and 17th with entrance off of Curtis has weekend parking rates for it's underground parking. On the weekend it is a one time fee of $5 but don't know if that would extend to overnight. When we do drive downtown that is one of the places we use. However all of the special weekend rates are subject to change if the Rockies are home that weekend.

Thanks. I learned in Boston to ask about parking and found much cheaper parking than the hotel, esp. on weekends. Worth a try. Amie

Are you driving or flying into Denver?

Yes. There are several 24 hour lots and garages that charge about 10/day on the weekends.
