Parking downtown Seattle
 

How expensive is parking and where would you park. We have a wedding at the Pioneer Square and would like to do sightseeing the next day.

There are lots of paid lots and parking garages like U-Park, etc. I'd say ranging between $9-12/day is typical. Some places have early bird or weekend specials.

Parking garages in Pioneer Square are less expensive than those in the retail core; however, according to the AAA TourBook for Washington State, in Seattle "Garage rates range from $3-$9 for and hour to $20-$27 for a full day."

If we knew where you will spend the night, we could give specific advice about where to park.

Well I pay & park downtown every day and sure am not paying $27!

Are you paying for 24 hours?

Nope, you're right, just for the work day. I didn't understand these people needed 24 hours. Your price makes more sense for that, I agree.

Thank you so much. That doesn't sound too bad. We haven't made any plans yet, but we are looking at the Holiday Inn Express at 19621 International Blvd. It had good reviews on TripAdvisor.com, they have a free breakfast and we can get 2 queen beds for $92.00 a nite.

The airport strip is not downtown Seattle.

If you like Holiday Inn Expresss, the one located at 226 Aurora Avenue is much better situated for the sightseeing you have in mind. It is near Seattle Center (home of the Space Needle) and about a one-mile walk from the downtown retail core.

As I mentioned in your other post, I would not stay at a hotel by the airport. That is just not a very nice part of the city imo & is 1/2 hour drive away. Certainly not convenient for sight-seeing downtown.

If you got a hotel in Seattle (there is a Great Western right in Pioneer Square) then you wouldn't even need to rent a car.

I agree with Suze. The airport is far away from downtown Seattle (Pioneer Square) and the area is NOT a good place to stay (in many peoples opinions) and is NOT in Seattle. If the wedding is in Seattle, then you would want to stay somewhere downtown or surrounding area. Hotels by the airport are not surrounding area. It is quite a drive. It's hard for people that are not Seattle natives and haven't been to Seattle to realize the airport is not close to "downtown" or any of the tourist areas.

Holiday Inn Express on Aurora is a good comparable suggestion in a much better location.

Sixth Avenue Inn and The Mediterranean are two other reasonably priced hotels near downtown.
