Parking at Safeco

We will have a rental car the night we are going to a ball game. Would like some advice as to how easy it is to park at the ball park or does anyone know of a hotel close by that provides transportation to the park. We are trying to figure out the cheapest and most convenient transportation to and from the game before we book a hotel for that night.

I'm not aware of any hotels that offer shuttles. If it's a day game, you can take a free bus as far south as Jackson St, from which Safeco is a 5-10 min. walk; unfortunately the free ride period ends at 7 or 8 pm so you'd have to shell out $1.25 for the bus back, of which there are numerous. The waterfront trolley also goes to the south end of Pioneer Square, again, maybe 10 min. from the ballpark.

There are numerous surface lots and parking structures near the field. When we feel like splurging (eg a midweek night game) we park in the big exhibition hall garage, right across the street (Royal Brougham) from the center field entrance, $15.00. There's a big garage across the street immediately south of the stadium, 50 feet from the will-call office, which is also $15 I think.

Cabs, if you can get them, will cost around $5 or $6 to most downtown hotels, or $2 or $3 per person; not bad.

There really aren't any hotels of note near the stadium. Stay uptown, maybe use Priceline for cheap 4-stars, and use your savings for the garage.

We have a similar question. We will be staying at the Doubletree at SeaTac. Anybody know about how much a cab would be from that hotel to Safeco? We want to attend a game the night before we fly out but we will have already turned in our rental car.

Thanks.

The 194 express bus from SeaTac to Downtown Seattle passes just a few blocks from Safeco. That's the way to go. $2 bucks or less depending upon time of day. Get off at Royal Brougham Way and reboard across the street.
