Park Shore Waikiki - Oahu

I have received a quote for a good rate at the Park Shore Waikiki. Does anyone know anything about this hotel?

I remember reading on an earlier thread that the hotel is located in a quiet area of Waikiki, but that the budget rooms have little or no view and are a bit run down. I think the consensus was to only book this hotel if you could be guaranteed a room in the "newly renovated section".

Renovations are complete -- and the location is good (Kapi`olani Park end of Waikiki). Very good hotel.

Be sure to get a "view" room....

Thanks.

autiemaria - when you say "renovations are complete", do you mean that all the rooms/sections are renovated now (meaning we don't have to get a guarantee that the room will be in that section?).

I'll see if they can ensure a "view" room at the rate they are giving.

Bart, we just stayed at Park Shore last week for a 1 night layover before visiting Kauai. Maybe as others said, if you have a newly rennovated room it could be a nice stay, but I would not recommend this place based on our short stay. Our room was NOT rennovated, it had a huge 2x3 foot GREEN stain on the carpet (the shape of a perfect rectangle..have no idea what it was from), and another area of carpet with big spots and stains. The overall room was pretty rundown and honestly, worse looking any Motel 6 room I have stayed at. It was very small too. Barebones but in a great location, right across from the beach so we actually had a partial ocean view if we stepped out to the lanai. Other pluses were a mini fridge & free coffee, but we would NOT consider staying here for any more time than a 12 hour layover. We would have insisted on a room change, but we got a cheap rate through priceline and we only needed a place to crash for the night. BTW, priceline rated this a 3*...NO WAY.

Thank heavens we spent the rest of the week in a true paradise location on Kauai's north shore to make up for it =D>

Egad...I hope you _will_ complain!

My apologies for stating renovations were complete; I had gotten that information from a friend who works at the hotel.
