Park City vs. Whistler
 

Has anybody been to both resorts? Important factors in order of priority are: 1) Plenty of activites for non-skiers. 2) Relative cost for similar lodging, eats, etc. 3) Variety of terrain for skiers of beginner to expert level.

I've been to Park City about 12 years ago and enjoyed the "Town area". Have never been to Whistler but it appears to have a great Village.

Whistler is incredible. Our family has been to Park City multiple times and enjoyed it, but not as much as Whistler. The Canadian dollar makes the trip a good buy for Americans. Beautiful lodgings of all types. We stayed in a wonderful 2br/2ba condo with heated floors, right on the cross country ski trails. Our then 5-year expanded his slight skiing experience there; our teen progressed as did Mom and Dad. One can spend an entire day skiing "on the mountain" and never reach the bottom...unless you prefer to be on the "fast track." Food was gourmet quality. So, what are you waiting for? Try it at least once to say you have. We flew into Seattle, spent a couple of days skiing Snoqualmie to get acclimated; then drove the beautiful drive to Whistler, thru Vancouver. It's easier to get to Park City and you've got Deer Valley and The Canyons all together. But, I guarantee you will never forget Whistler.

We like Park City, but we love Whistler. Because it is only 2200 at the base, there are none of the altitude issues. There are over 7000 acres of skiing, and the villages at the base are very convenient. We've heard stories of bad weather (rain), but the worst we've had is drizzle in the village, but good weather once you get up 1000 feet.
