Park City Condos

I will be spending a week in Park City, UT in July. My family includes 2 teen-age boys so I'd like to rent a condo for the extra room. I think I'd like to be near the Park City Mountain Resort (from what I've read, they have the activities we want). How do I know which condo development to look for a rental - there seem to be so many listings on VRBO but I don't knowwhere these places are?

I spent a summer week there a couple of years ago; rented a nice condo in the resort base area, which was very convenient. The summer prices seemed very reasonable. I was visiting friends who had a 2-bdr. in the "Silver Mill" complex; I was across the way in the Resort Center. The whole first floor of each building around the plaza area is shops and restaurants. Here is a map of the resort center so you can see where things are:

It was a short walk or bike ride to the Park City town area.

Hi Robin,

I would start with www.parkcityinfo.com. It has links to everything including many of the property management companies that handle condo rentals. They will be able to provide you with more info than the owner rented units.

Be sure to ask when the unit was last renovated and what the renovation included. You might also want to ask if there is an elevator in case the unit is on an upper floor. Some of the older complexes only have stairs.

Be aware that location doesn't make too much difference since the free shuttles run all summer too and go everywhere.

The Marriott Mountainside is a condo hotel right at the base. David Holland properties are also at the base.

Be sure to visit the Utah Olympic Park, especially on a Sat at noon when the aerialists do their show. Your sons will LOVE it! Must have tickets in advance.

We stayed one year at the Park Station, which is at the very bottom of the hill on the main drag in Park City. It was extremely convenient -- walk to restaurants, shops, the town lift, etc. Each unit is individually owned (but rented through the Park Station), so some may be nicer than others.

Thank you to those who responded. We wound up in a 2-bedroom unit at Edelweis Haus which turned out to be very convenient to everything.

Dayle, you have my sympathies on the wildfires and the heat. We spend an afternoon at the waterpark in Provo but had to leave early when the wind shifted and ashes and smoke from the wildfires started making it difficult to breathe.

I would also recommend the aerialist show at the Olympic Park. We saw several athletes practicing before the show so for us it stretched out to an hour's worth of watching instead of just the too-short 25 minute show.

Hi Robin,

So glad you had a good time! The condo is the same place my sister's family stayed one Easter. They found it very convenient too!

My folks are in town visiting right now and I took them over to the "Flying Aces" aerialists show - they loved it!

Thank goodness we had some whopper rain storms last week that cleaned the air and cooled us off to "normal"!
