Park Central Hotel - AVOID
 

Just back from 3 nights at Park Central Hotel. Do not recommend. Beds were horrible, carpet worse, bath tub would not drain, received an unasked for 6 am wake up call on our day of departure. Too many other hotel choices, avoid this one.

The Park Central was a dump 15 years ago, when it was an Omni hotel. They finally took their name off - it was killing their reputation!

I remember reading an article in a hotel mag that Omni couldn't get away from that hotel fast enough!

Supposedly, however, they have remodeled and it's much better despite LisaB's bad experience. I have a friend who stays there twice a year and keeps going back. It's also cheaper than much of the competition, though, so buyer beware!

Is this the one on 8th? Close to twentyyears ago I got stuck there once or twice. I learned my lesson. They would hold a fashion jewelry show in the hotel. Oh how the vendors just hated the place!
I was a buyer so I only had to be there during the day. Then back to my nicer room, just about anywhere else!

It's on 7th Ave. at 55th St.
