Paris over the Holidays

If you were visitng Paris for the first time and you were taking two teenagers(Girl-16,Boy-14),would you stay on the Left Bank or the Right Bank?

Hi, if you're talking about Paris, France, then you should post on the Europe board; this is the US board.

I'd stay on the side that faces the Bellagio so that I could see the fountain from my room.

I agree you should post this on the Europe board, but I still have an opinion, and its Left Bank. Think of the difference by comparison to NY -- Left Bank = Greenwich Village, Right Bank = Upper East Side. We love the Left Bank for its funkiness.

Split the difference and stay on Ile St. Louis. They will enjoy the Berthillon ice cream.

They will enjoy the Berthillon ice cream.

FWIW, you can get Berthillon all over Paris (although the place on the Ile St. Louis is the original), and IMHO (and my daughters), their vanilla is the best in the world!

Poncho How are you? Skiing in Tahoe during Pres. Week. Feb 2008. I have been to Paris 3 times the last 2 years and took the kids there last Pres. and stayed at a lovely Hotel called Hotel de College de France right next to the Sorbonne. After Paris we drove to Chamonix to ski.I would stay on the Left Bank in the Latin Qtr. Let me know if you get this and we can talk. Kids are fine hope yours are too.
