Parent Weekend at Cal

New to UC Berkeley and the area. Looking for restaurant recommendations. Will we need reservations? (Oct. 15-17)Any and all suggestions are appreciated for any kinds of things. Thanks!

Welcome!

Where are you staying? Yes, if it is a restaurant in Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto then you will need reservations.

The term above is not derogatory...everybody calls the row where Chez Panise and the rest the GG.

4th Street is fun for dining, University Ave has some good ones too...Solono Ave in Albany is also chocked full of good restaurants...

What kind of food do you like?

Other restaurant recommendations- Le Bateau Ivre (The Drunken Boat) on Telegraph, Zax on Telegraph. I hope you have your hotel reservations, the entire town is sold out due to Homecoming/Parents Weekend.

For a casual meal, try Picante on 6th. I think it is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area. No reservations. You order at a counter. Have fun.
