Parasailing Vanderbilt Beach area

I am meeting friends for drinks in the Vanderbilt beach area. Any suggestions would be welcome. I was at la Playa in Nov and thought maybe there, but I'd love more options. anyway.... also, I'd like to go parasailing, preferably where two people go up together. Anyone know where the best prices are? thanks....

Sorry, I can't give you better information, but I do know we had a death by parasailing last year, and there was a major lawsuit. I'm not even going to guarantee that the hotels are still offering it. I don't get up to Vanderbilt much, but along the city beach I haven't seen any parasailing since -- both Edgewater and the Beach Club used to have it a lot.

Yikes.... thanks for the prompt reply. Maybe we'll just drink instead. What is the best beachside drinking spot up that way?

Vanderbilt Inn and Vanderbilt Beach Resort, which are almost at opposite ends of the Vanderbilt Beach, are both very popular drinking spots. The beach bar at the Ritz is nice, but of course a little pricier, not to mention the required valet parking.

Patrick, I've reported your missive to the Parasailing Society of America. I hear they want to give you a free ride off a short pier in a very congested area. So be sure to say your goodbyes.
