Jeez - and I just started a thread how things are "same old, been there done that, have little interest anymore..." till I saw this revived thread and read it with great interest and memories flooding by.
1 I agree - Trunk bay left an indelible memory on me.
2 Top of the Great Pyramid when you could actually walk to the top real early in the morning without getting arrested! High moment of my life.
3 The Grand Canyon - the whole walk to the bottom
4 Yes, I agree - Lake Moraine and Lake Louise
5 The Alaskan glaciers - mesmerizing
6 The view from our rooms at the Ritz Carlton in Jimbaran Bali and the Maya Ubud Hotel in Bali - spectacular places
7 Glacier Nat Pk going to the sun road - the prettiest cold place I've been!
8 Yosemite's Glacier Pt at sunset - just did it last summer and I agree with the others - it's like a painting
9 The top of Mt Whitney (tallest pt in lower 48 states) - very striking and literally breathtaking (14,496 ft)
10 Canyonland Utah at sunset -camping on the rim. Outstanding views that even blow away the Grand Canyon for me
11 Guadalupe Peak in Tx. Tallest pt in Tx and you can see 50 miles into Mexico from the top (8400 ft)
Some of these place were so beautiful that I teared up with emotion when I got there.
SO many other places... who's next? Where ELSE do I need to go and see?!?

- View of Golden Gate Bridge from Marin Headlands, California
- Valley View, Yosemite
- View from Sentinel Dome, Yosemite

There are so many others, but any of the ones I've mentioned are spectacular sites.

The Northern Lights over the Chugach Range from my front porch.
Well, OK, I also love Moraine Lake, the Kaibob Trail, the 17 mile drive, Ecola Park, watching the lights come on in Wailaia from Maleaea (sp) Bay, seeing Gordes lit up at night, the lighthouse across from St. Mawes, Cornwall in moonlight, houses peeping through the mist and trees along the Spey River, and coming out the tunnel of golden trees at the end of the Going to the Sun Highway in the fall.

Standing on top of Piz Nair in St. Moritz in the winter. I'm a mountain lover, and the view is just plain breathtaking. Peak after jagged peak of snow covered mountains for as far as the eye can see.

The cliffside campsite along the middle of the eastern shoreline of Pietro Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area along the Minnesota/Canada border.
Two days by canoe to get to -- inaccessible by any motorized means. There's even a law against planes flying below a designated ceiling over the BWCA. So you've got to want it. But the solitude, scenery and sunsets are well worth it.

I noticed nobody mentioned Tahiti. Any votes for Tahiti?? I definitely agree with some of your votes, but I'm curious as to where some of you would rank Tahiti. Some of the people on the tahiti-explorer.com website will swear on their mother's grave that Tahiti is the greatest thing ever created! I don't think so, but what do you guys think?

Many, many....
The Great Ocean Road and Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
Sydney Harbor. We had a penthouse corner suite with floor to ceiling windows on the 21st floor - overlooking the Sydney Harbor bridge on one side & the opera house on the other. Heaven!
The Italian Alps.
