Paradise Park Resort - Old Orchard Beach
Anyone ever stayed at that campground?? Any comments on location? Safety?? Convenience? Value?
|
toping...need a response, making decision tonight!
|
You are asking only about the campground; does that mean you are familiar with Old Orchard Beach in general? It's not my favorite place, and there are many like postings here if you do a search...
|
oh really....well I was debating between old orchard beach and hampton beach...which one do you prefer? Whats wrong with OOB? what about the campground?

yes, I am still talking to myself

it might help your planning if you post a little earlier before you need to make a decision, to give yourself a little more time to reach the people who might be able to help. just a thought.

I remember reading your previous posts seeking camping in Southern NH, Maine, Boston area. I am not surprised that you have no responses on any campground - posters here seem to be either hotel-ers or hikers.
Both Hampton Beach and Old Orchard Beach are honky-tonk, some would say tacky, beach areas with a main "strip" with arcades, fried dough stands, pizza shops, etc. Neither is considered upscale, but both are very popular vacation spots and guaranteed to draw crowds. Old Orchard Beach got a little (?a lot) run down in recent years but is advertising a fix-up/clean-up - can't verfiy that. Once a very popular vacation spot for French-Canadians - perhaps still is. Tried to be a family-type spot. Hampton Beach is part of the very tiny NH seacoast - draws a younger crowd, also not upscale - and a larger percentage of visitors with motorcycles and tatoos than some other beaches. Sorry can't answer specific campground question. Looking at their website I think you will find a large percentage of seasonal RV campers rather than short-term tent campers. |
Thanks! I am in my early 20's, so touristy attractions is something I think I will like....
I think I will book the paradise park...I guess a camping is a camping... |
My DH and FIL just spent a few nights in OOB to golf and they camped at Hidn Pines. They both raved about the campground - excellent facilities, clean restrooms and good location. Their phone is 207-934-2352.
Try RV.net for camping forums. Lots of good info. Also check a Woodall's camping guide - Paradise Park received good ratings from them. Good luck. |
