Paradise Cove or Germaine Luau?

Hi everyone. My husband and I and our 2 teenagers are going to Oahu for the first time and would like to attend a luau while were there, can't just make up my mind on which one. Have you attended either one? Which is more entertaining? Did you like the food? My teenagers are picky eaters so I don't think they'll be thrilled with the food but I still want them to have a good time. Thanks for any reply.

Don't overlook the Ali'i Luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Their night show following the luau is just wonderful.<BR>

I would attempt to seek out a smaller more intimate luau than either Paradise Cove or Germaine's. Paradise Cove for sure is huge although I'm not positive about the number of guests at Germaine's. It will probably cost more but be much more enjoyable rather than being treated like a herd of cattle.

Ditto on the cattle remark

I wouldn't go to Paradise Cove

Paradise Cove was good. Hundreds of people though.

Another we went to (I forget which one it was) was lousy.

I thought Germaines was like a tacky, tropical themed Las Vegas revue. I'm used to Old Lahaina Luau on Maui, &amp; Germaines &amp; Paradise Cove do not compare. I'd also suggest Polynesian Cultural Center.

My teenage niece and nephew enjoyed the luau at Paradise Cove. They seemed to most enjoy the pre-dinner activities (ie, temporary tattoos, polynesian games, lei making, etc.) and they enjoyed the show. My niece is also a picky eater-- she loaded up on the chicken and seemed to be ok. I have never been to Germaines so can't offer an opinion there. I have also been to Alli luau at PCC-- I agree the night show after the luau is the best, but I personally did not find the luau food to be significantly better than Paradise Cove, except I think I recall the Alli had more desserts.

Yikes! Saw this as a recent topic on the board today so I replied. Just noticed the original question was from 2002! Well perhaps it will assist others.
