Palm springs to LAX- need help
We will be in LA for a wedding in May and are planning to go to Palm Springs for the last two nights.
We are flying out of LAX at 1:00pm-domestic flight. Do you think we can stay in PS the night before the flight and leave early in the morning for the airport? |
No, unless it is the weekend; too much traffic. Even without traffic it is 2 and 1/2 hrs.
|
Sure you can, it just all depends on how early you want to get up and jump in your car -
and if it is a weekday or a weekend - if your flight is at 1 pm, domestic, you need to check in at noon - if you are returning a rental car you'd want to get there by 11:15 (I would anyway) Agree it is about 2-3 hours - with light traffic - depending on the day of the week - but I'm conservative, and I would probably leave at 7:30am, so I'd know I'd make my flight - - and if you get to LAX early, have brunch/lunch close to or in the airport - |
We were thinking of leaving our hotel around 7:00am and our flight is on a Tuesday. What do you think?
|
I think so but I emailed my cousin who does that route all the time and asked them..... hopefully someone else will chime in who does it more often ...
|
I have done that route before on a weekday and will never do it again. It is horrible. Spend the night before in LA.
|
leave PS late in the evening, and Priceline an LAX hotel. You won't lose any usable PS time, since you'd have to leave at 0 dark thirty to miss horrible traffic on Tues.
Leave after dinner Monday night - will have MUCH less traffic, and be able to sleep in. |
Hi-YES I do this all the time. I have a place in Palm Desert and fly via LAX since airfares are cheaper. Just allow enough time; I'd leave by 8:00am; since you obviously have a rental car to return, and that's off-site from the airport. :)
