Palm Springs International Film Festival

Jump to last reply

I'll be in Palm Springs during the film festival in January, visiting family, and I wondered if anyone has been to any of these events in the past and could offer some tips. I'm thinking about just the films themselves, but I read about special discussion screenings and might be interested in these as well.

I've been to the website, and it looks like you can order a six-pack of tickets ahead of time, and then cash them in for the movie you want to see. I see the advantage of this being that pass holders get preference over those walking up to the window at the time of the show, but is it difficult to get tickets on the spur of the moment? I see on the website's description that pre-buying tickets doesn't guarantee that you'll get into the film you want, either. The schedule for all films won't be released until December 26.

I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons, trying to keep things flexible for our stay there, but don't want to miss out either. I would ask family members, but I was trying to arrange some of these things as a surprise. If anyone has personal experience with this, I would appreciate hearing about it! Thanks.
