Palm Springs Hotels?
 

We are going to Palm Springs and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good hotel. We stayed at the Villa Royale years ago and was wondering if it is still nice. Any other suggestions on good hotels or resorts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alotl

STAY AT MARRIOTT RESORT!! AWESOME BEAUTIFUL, GOOD FOOD, HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGE POOL, VIEW OF SNOW-CAPPED MOUNTAINS ALL YEAR... CAN'T GO WRONG. STAYED IN mARCH AND GOT A TAN!! HAVE FUN. KIDS OK TOO.

Keely: I agree with Allison that the Marriott Resort in Palm Desert is nice. We had dinner there, and a boat took us from the lobby (!) to the restaurant. We stayed at the Desert House, an intimate inn in Palm Springs just off Palm Canyon Drive. It's a couple of blocks to the Palm Springs Desert Museum, and a short walk to Louise's for wonderful cinnamon rolls and patty melts. It has just five rooms and a nice pool, and our room even had a kitchenette. Very comfortable, cozy and affordable.

The Marriott is a nice BIG hotel. If you want something smaller along the lines of Villa Royale I would suggest the Korakia in Palm Springs. Has 12 rooms but I believe has expanded to 17 rooms. Villa Royale is still OK however the room I had was decorated in all floral prints - a little much for me. The Korakia looks like a greek/moorish abode. White with thick walls. The beds are not your typical box spring. They have built up a concrete platform put a mattress on and your comforter is down. Stone floors. Least expensive room is 79.00 without a kitchenette. Most expensive runs about 169.00. It's like having your own apartment. Several of the more expensive rooms have their own kitchen and fireplace. Small pool. Breakfast is included. Served by the pool or in your room. Popular with the LA hip crowd - has been written up in Architectural Digest, Style magazine and some travel mag. Rooms are airconditioned in case you go in the summer. Can walk to the restaurants in downtown palm springs. I highly recommend it - it is contemporary without falling victim to being too hip (yet).
