Palm Springs, CA

We are going to Palm Springs in April. We are staying in Downtown at the Best Western Las Brisas. Is it a safe neighborhood to get out and walk to restuarants etc.... thanks.

It is very safe and close to restaurants, etc. However, when we stayed there a few weeks ago we were given a room with the filthiest carpet I've seen in a long time. Breakfast includes eggs OR a waffle, but it is served in a dingy room with a TV blaring.

We moved to Casa Cody, which is a real cute "authentic" Palm Springs place with two little pools and a good quality continental breakfast served in the court yard. Casa Cody is equally close to restaurants, etc. We had a "studio" with full kitchen for the same rate as Las Brisas. (This place is more like a B&B than a motel.)

Thanks for the reply, We may change hotels after hearing this.

I agree with the previous poster. I would look at other properties.

You can stay in a BW anywhere, but you can't stay in a Casa Cody, Korakia etc anywhere.

Las Brisas is at best average.

I wish you a great stay here.

We just returned Sunday from a week in Palm Springs. We found a very reasonably priced, beautifully appointed rental home in a lovely residential neighborhood less than a mile from The Best Western. It had all the comforts of any home and the luxury of a secluded pool and hot tub in a large, walled backyard. It is much more affordable than the hotels/motels in the area. Take your time and look a little deeper for gems like this. As for safety and convenience, we walked and rode bikes throughout the week in our neighborhood as well as strolling The Drive in the evenings.
