Palm Springs Babymoon
 

My husband and I are traveling to Palm Springs at the end of March for our babymoon. I'll be about 7 months pregnant and we just read that the CA schools will be out on Spring Break the same time we're there.

Looking for recommendations on places to stay that aren't too sleepy, but also aren't a raging party scene.

Also, would love any additional recommendations on restaurants, things to do, etc. We'll have a car for the entire 4 days and already plan to visit Joshua Tree. Also, huge foodies so looking at both places in Palm Springs and in the surrounding area.

Where are you coming from? Could you fly into Las Vegas instead of a California airport?
The Mojave National Preserve also has quite a few Joshua trees.
Let's hope that it is not terribly hot in late March in the Mojave.

We stayed at Triada Hotel (Marriott Autograph Collection) right in Palm Springs, between downtown and the movie colony. This is a small hotel and we loved it.
There were at least 10 good restaurants that were easily walkable from there. For restaurants, take a look at my trip report (click on my name, look at my profile and look under trip reports). Palm Springs has a charming downtown area.

Note that you couldn't pay me to stay in Palm Desert.

We stayed in a kitchen unit at the Andalusian Court in PS - gorgeous, romantic, very convenient to everything. Lucy and Desi apparently had their babymoon there back in the day.

Following - we may be coming there in mid April with twin toddlers and are also looking for more of a relaxing atmosphere as opposed to the party scene.

What is Palm Desert (vs Palm Springs)?

Palm Desert is way out in the desert. It is a collection of resorts. You would likely spend all of your time at your chosen resort, and you would have to rent a car. No place will be walkable from your resort, and there is no downtown area.

Palm Springs is a town, and there is a charming downtown. If you choose well, you can walk many places from your hotel. Lots of good restaurants.
