Palm Springs Area at Thanksgiving
 

We will be staying Thanksgiving and that weekend in Palm Desert, would love to know a good, interesting place to have Thanksgiving Dinner. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Nancy,<BR>I can recommend a very upscale restaurnt in Palm Desert...&quot;Jillian's.&quot;<BR>We ate a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner there about three years ago seated outside on the cozy patio, our request. Tiny white lights on trees makes for nice ambiance. Excellent food, service impeccable. It is located on El Paseo Drive. Thanks Deb, I will look it up, sounds really festive, just what we need after a trying year. We are staying at the Westin Mission Hills Resort sight unseen, any thoughts on it?

you should check if the restaurant at the top of the tram is having anything special.

The food at the Tram restaurant is nothing special. So if you're interested in getting fine dining, stay clear of the Tram. On the other hand, if you want an adventure and a great view, the Tram is a fun experience.

Second the 'steer clear of the tram' comment with respect to food. They do traditionally light the large christmas tree-shaped frame on Thanksgiving weekend though and that can be fun. Jillian's is very good. many of the better restaurants would be a good bet. I think we are going to do the Lodge this year. Enjoy.<BR><BR>PSL

The restaurant at the top of the tram is a cafeteria. <BR><BR>Do get a beer or glass of wine. The buzz at 8700 feet is pretty cool.<BR><BR>We had a good dinner at The Turtle or something like that and also at the Yardstick.

Hope am not too late in answering It is very seldom that someone answers a post here, especially to me.<BR>You picked a posh hotel, although hve nver stayed there. Have heard all things good. Rancho Mirage is very upscale. Good choice.<BR>Be sure to stroll down the &quot;El Paseo.&quot; It is the Beverly Hills &quot;Rodeo Drive&quot; of the desert. Many nice restaurants, shops to explore. Weather should be perfect...warm, sunny days, nice cool evenings. Enjoy.<BR>Best regards, Deb
