PALM DESERT HOTELS
My husband and I will be in Palm springs the first week of January, Looking for a reasonable but good hotel. Does not have to be a resort but would like good pool area. Also any ideas for restaurants. Thanks..never been to Palm Springs area.

I don't know what your price range of reasonable includes, but the Marriott Residence Inn, in Palm Desert, has a nice pool area, a hot breakfast and evening snack are included.

The Hyatt (Indian Wells) has a special for $129 which includes access to the club lounge (breakfast, hors d'oerves)

The Renaissance Esmeralda is very nice but I don't know what the rates are like in the winter.
We went to Sammy's Pizza (it had more than pizza on the menu) and really enjoyed it. It was in the shopping district in town. Also, we enjoyed the pies at Marie Callenders. The chicken pot pie is also very good! |
ticklepink,
That is a great rate. Where did you find the Hyatt Grand Champion the first week in Jan. for $129 a night with Regency Club access? I went to the Hyatt site/specials and could not find anything close to that price. Please share. |
Here are the details on the Championship Hyatt. Have you ever stayed there? I am booked at the Renaissance, but that Hyatt looked good.
This deal is good for stays through Dec. 25 and between Jan. 1-9. Blackout Dates: Dec. 6-9. Book by Dec. 8. Yes, Tickledpink, I have stayed at the Hyatt in Incian Wells, just as recently as Labor Day in Sept., on the Concerige Level. Romms are very spacious, with a step down sitting room and wonderful new adult pool and about 5 other pools. The Spa is better here.
The Esmeralda has very nice rooms too, the lobby is more impressive, and the large swimming pool has a sand beach at one end, good for kids. You can't go wrong with either, but the concierge level at the Hyatt is the best. You will save a lot of money on food and drinks and they have free internet Thanks for the Hyatt code. |
Just keep in mind that Indian Wells is a good 20 minute drive from Palm Springs proper. If you are actually going to be in Palm Springs, I would recommend the Viceroy Palm Springs (great spa), Korakia Pensione or the Orbit Inn--all close to the main drag and styled in the mid-century style that PS is so famous for. Have fun!
