Palm Beach weekend

Starting to think that a long weekend in Palm Beach is the place to go for a quick getaway in early June. Wife and I will be without kids for the first time in a couple of years and need to recharge the batteries. Palm Beach seems like a perfect place.

Looking at the usual places to stay: The Breakers, Four Seasons. Will I need to rent a car while I'm there? If we'd like to go out to eat or do some shopping, can I get to those places without a car?

I'd suggest renting a car unless you just want to stay at one of the resorts; you can't really walk to shopping or outside dining from either of those you mentioned. By June, the rates should have dropped considerably & I'd recommend the Breakers--they have some really good off season rates & you can stroll & dine around Palm Beach easily. It really is an impressive resort.

The Breakers is impressive but I love the Four Seasons. It's just a small, intimate, luxurious hotel that never feels busy or pretentious. We used to go every year for meetings and it was my favorite place to stay over for a few days. Everything is RIGHT THERE. Pool steps away from the rooms. Beach steps away from the pool. Great service. I loved it. Our sister company stayed at the Breakers and we would go there for the Big Event Evening...but I was always glad to get back to the 4S. They may offer shuttle service to town. Call and ask. I always had access to a car.

Either would be a great choice though.

My wife and I prefer the Brazilian Court. If you need to be on the beach than it doesn't work, but if you're ok not being on the beach the location is great. Less than 10 minute walk to Worth Avenue, great old hotel with lots of privacy, great restaurant at the hotel, nice spa and salon, very unlikely to have a lot of kids.

You can easily stay there without a car and just use a taxi to/from the airport.

Agree that where you stay will determine whether you need a car. Have only stayed at the Breakers and there were shuttles into town and enough taxis if you want to avoid renting a car. For the Four Seasons or the RC, I think you need a car. Check them out on a map. Brazilian Court is right in town.

The Ritz Carlton in Palm Beach is truly amazing! My husband and I just stayed there this weekend and are in love with the resort! Its a beautiful property and their spa (Eau Spa) is heaven on earth. The breakers is great too!!! :)
