Palm Beach Resort Help
My husband and I are trying to decide whether to stay at the Four Seasons or Ritz C. in Palm Beach in June. Does one have a superior beach/pool or better dining options? Both hotels seem fantastic, even if they are a car ride away from shopping on Worth Avenue
The RC is undergoing a major expansion. I would call the hotel and ask if it impacts guests (be prepared that they will say "no" - but from my experience, there is always noise with construction!).
Great advice. Do you have any knowledge of the 4 Seasons there?
No, not that particular RC. Just been unlucky enough to stay at hotels while under renovation!
We are headed to the Marriott on Hutchinson Island -- never been, so we shall see. By the way, to find you post just click on your screen name. |
Oh, just realized you asked about the Four Seasons -- No, sorry.
The Four Seasons is south of the town, but still in Palm Beach.
Ritz-Carlton (I believe) is in Manalapan which is south of Palm Beach. |
Does anyone have a preference between Palm Beach Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton? Which has the better pool/beach area.
Have you considered The Breakers Hotel? I have heard rave reviews about that one.
I like the Breakers better than both the RC and the 4S but in all fairness I have not stayed at the 4S.
We've stayed in the Four Seasons three times on business. It is a nice hotel but nothing spectacular. Pool takes up the entire front of the hotel. The resort itself is small and while the service is very good, there's not much else going on. I'd choose The Breakers over 4S, no question. |
I have had the luxury of staying at The Breakers twice and am headed back there next month. While in Palm Beach we've explored both the Ritz and the FS. In my honest opinion, The Breakers has it all hands down. Both The Ritz and The FS seemed very boring and business like. The bar at the FS was empty on the Saturday night we stopped in. We had Sunday brunch at the RC and it was lovely. Friends of ours stayed at the RC and said it was nice but not worth the $$ and they wished they were at The Breakers with all the action. FYI The Breakers just unveiled a huge new pool/beach expansion with 2 new pools and a new beach/casual restaurant. I can't wait to see it!
Breakers all the way. They recently expanded their pool area with gorgeous cabanas too. You walk in and stare at the ceiling in awe. At first you wonder if the experience will be tacky, but it so isn't. the spa is incredible. the shopping is incredible. It's really the best resort in the area imo...

I have been in the Ritz Carlton and it is beautiful but away from everything. The Four Seasons looks like nothing from the front and it in the middle of "nowhere". The Breakers is very majestic, spacious, and alive, close to everything and yet in a world of its own. It would definitely be my choice.
If the choice is between the Four Seasons and the Ritz, definitely the Four Seasons. The service is better, and it is a quick ride to Worth Ave.
We have stayed at the Four Seasons and are heading there again
The restaurant gets top food and service scores in Zagat. The staff is outrageiously helpful, from the popsicle guy at the pool to the excellent concierge. It is a relaxing spot. |
We love the Four Seasons as well. It's very relaxed. You don't need to dress up aroung the hotel. The Dining Room is outstanding. We're going back next week.
My friends just returned last week from Palm Beach. They spent 4 nights at the Ritz and 4 nights at The Breakers. They said that the Ritz did not even compare to The Breakers -- and they were the same price. They LOVED the Breakers !!
We are staying at the Ritz over Memorial Day Weekend. I called to inquire and they told me that no renovations will be taking place as the Ritz will be closing for renovations starting in mid July through October. The $15 million room renovations are completed.
