packing for Phoenix/Tucson

I am trying to decide what to take for next week's trip, shorts, capris, slacks, jeans or what? We are staying at Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak & Loews Ventana Canyon. We won't be going to fancy restaurants. If you have any thoughts, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Betsy

Style-wise I find that anything goes in the area. I think all your choices are on target. Open toed shoes are worn pretty much year round so while you might feel odd in sandals at home at this time of year they'll work in AZ.

Weather-wise, check temps on www.weather.com. Its been a slight bit wacky lately with rain and cooler temps in some areas.

amwosu - thanks for the heads up on sandels. You are right, it has been cold & snowy here for the last several days (Denver. I am very much looking forward to a little warmth. Thanks, Betsy

BetsyG: Hope you get the warmth. This was our fourth year in the Pheonix area (same time of year) and we have always had good weather. But, this year we got rain two days, snow which stayed on the ground and plenty of very cold weather. We did have two days of good weather during the day, but it was still colder than usual at night.
So, my answer would be all of the above. Think layers and bring something that is water repellant for an outer garment. Have a great time.

joegri - thanks for the info, I'll have the kids pack their "raincoats".

Betsy,

leave the raincoats at home. According to the 10 day forecast, mostly sunny, with highs in 80's and lows from mid 50's to low 60's

That link was just for Phoenix. Tucson will be a bit cooler -- low 50's to low-mid 80's

Just back from a first visit to Tucson. Three days of gorgeous weather: bright and sunny, definitely capris and sandals weather, at least for most of the day. Then on Sunday it rained and was VERY chilly--I was wishing I had brought a heavier jacket as I shivered my way around the Arisona Dessert Museum.
