If you blow dry your hair bring your own blow dryer! I hate those wimpy blow dryers most hotels provide. I find it takes me longer to dry my hair in Hawaii due to the humidity and those little dryers attached to the wall did nothing! Bring a lightweight nylon duffle bag for all of the goodies you will buy. Sundresses are plenty dressy for Nick's etc. I only saw one woman at Nick's who was really dressed up and she almost looked out of place!

Just curious, Mary, do you then check the duffle bag or carry in on the plane back home? Belle

I usually put the dirty clothing in the duffle bag and check it. This frees up space in my suitcase for my vacation purchases. I don't put anything breakable in the duffle and I have never had a problem.

On the way home my carry-on is a department store style fancy paper or plastic bag with handles filled with the souveniers. ABC Stores sell sturdy ones with Hawaiian motifs for a couple dollars.

Thanks Mary and Suze! I will plan to use those ideas when we go this July!!((y)) Belle.

Carry-on packing tip for long flights. Whenever I take a really looong flight that spans overnight (like the return trip from Hawaii), I scrunch my feather bed pillow from home into my carry on bag. Whether I'm booked in FC or Coach, once I'm on the plane, I pop out that pillow, fluff it up, and because it made of feathers, it molds perfectly up against the plane (I always get window seat) and I can sleep in comfort. I've been doing this for years and everytime I "unfold" my pillow, I can hear passengers around me say, "Man, why didn't I think of that".
