Pacific Heights Restraurant

I've been reading this board's postings all summer planning for a late Sept trip to San Francisco that my husband so generously booked for us. I plan to post separate questions to try and get as specific needs for info. We will be 3 nights in San Francisco, then a Backroads bike tour of wine country for 6 days, then one night back in the city.

Our last night of the trip will be at the Hotel Drisco in Pacific Heights. We're looking for restaurant recommendations in the area. Good food, great atmosphere, not snobby. Maybe a fixed price tasting menu with wine? Italian or seafood, or bistro?

Quince might be your cup of tea: http://www.quincerestaurant.com/pages/home_main.html

I would concur on Quince. We just went there this summer on our honeymoon. Great, great food, excellent service (a bit pricey but you get what you pay for (and not out of line for most prix-fix menus).

The proprietors of Hotel Drisco should have many good suggestions. Part of being a good innkeeper.

Yes they do--they recommend dining in restaurants located in other hotels within the joie de vivre chain.

Sociale on Sacramento St.--Italian, good food, atmosphere and frequented mostly by locals.

OH....not very good innkeepers, after all. Too bad.
