Pacific Coast Bus Tour

Help! Some members of my family are interested in the Pacific Coast (by Gray Line) Bus tour.. maybe Long Beach/ Queen Mary, Universal Combo (including Hollywood and LA), or the Star's Home Tours. Any input on any of these- recommend/avoid, etc.
Thanks alot!

Personally, I'd NEVER even consider the Stars Homes tour. Why would anybody want to ride on a bus looking at the outside the of houses, some of which are no longer the residents of the stars who used to live there? I just feel that California has a lot more to offer me. Maybe if we actually got to enter some of the homes, but, unless their itinerary has changed since the last time I read a brochure, I'd forget it. Either of the other two would probably be worth your time, as Gray Line is an excellent, well-established tour company.

Have heard that it's a lot of time on the bus in traffic and not a lot of fun. LA is not a difficult city. Why not rent a car and drive on your own?

Thanks for the input!

Well, actually - we are renting a car. But my Dad and Step-Mom would like to do something on their own for the day. We will be using the car and they will either go to Disney that day or do something else. Just checking the other options. They've done "senior" bus trips before and enjoyed it. Thanks for any help!

Anyone out there actually taken one of these? How long were you in traffic!?
Thanks!
