Pacific Blues or Gordon's?

Hello, I will be in Napa in the fall and I'm staying at Petit Logis. The breakfast there allows a choice of eating at either of these 2 restaurants. Any advice on which is preferred for breakfast? I notice that Gordon's is called a cafe and wine bar - making me wonder if perhaps it's more of an evening spot than a breakfast spot?

Thanks.

Aloohaaa,
You're making me salivate just thinking about BOTH places. =P~

Gordon's is a bit more of an "upscale" b'fast, IMHO. Nice setting. Good people.
The owner is so sweet. Bakery too.
Kind of reminds me of a little French Inn-type of restaurant.

If you like sharing a table from time to time and meeting people from all over, it's your place.

Pac Blues is more of a "blue collar" type of b'fast place, once again, IMHO and I'm open for any corrections.

If it's a warm Fall morning, we like to sit out on the back patio facing Vintage 1870 and some vinyards. Or sit out in front and watch the traffic drive by on the lovely Washington St.

Great blues music played while you eat, too.
You really can't go wrong with either place for b'fast.

WHAT? You CAN'T have wine for b'fast? =-O

How funny! Thanks for the advice. Sounds like I really can't go wrong w/ either place. Perhaps we'll have to make the time to check them both out! And you're right - what was I thinking - when in Napa - why not have a little nip for breakfast???? :)

Hey luv2travel5! I just wanted to advise you against the "breakfast package" at Petit Logis. Don't get me wrong...we LOVED LOVED LOVED Petit Logis and we're SO glad we stayed there. We also loved all of our breakfasts at Pacific Blues, but we realized that we could have gotten the exact same breakfast there for less than the $20 extra we paid per night for the breakfast package through Petit Logis. So, I recommend getting just the room at Petit Logis, then eating breakfast at Pacific Blues, but just order on your own off the menu. And try the breakfast burrito--my mouth is watering just thinking about it! :)

Hi Travelisfun! Thanks for the advice on the breakfast package at Petit Logis. I had just figured it worked out to about the same amount, but it sounds like maybe not. What if there were 3 to a room? Does that then make it worthwhile? We are traveling with friends and we'll have just me and my husband in my room but they'll actually have 3 in their room. If it's an extra $20 for the breakfast, perhaps it makes sense for them since surely breakfast for 3 would exceed that? What do you think?

Alohaaaa,
A-HA, T'fun!

Didn't you post a NV TR stating the breakfast gambit?

After I posted, it was bugging me because it sounded so familiar.
I need a life!!!

Here's the Pac Blues webbie: www.pacificbluescafe.com

Shows just a portion of the B'fast menu.
Ditto to the B'fast burrrrrrrEEEEto but they also have a good Salmon Scramble too.

Here's a revu of Gordon's I had stored in my NV/SV folder.
The owner is "Sweet" Sally, lovely lady. Note the dinner on Friday nights that require reservations: www.ilovenapa.com/favorite_yountvillecafe.html

MAN! I'm hungry just reading about these places again!

Hello again! With three to a room, it will probably be worth the money. For two of us, it was about $12-18 total each time. (It's interesting, because they actually present you with a "bill" showing how much your meal was...presumably so you can tip accordingly). The thing that really irked us was when our meal was only $12, but we were still forced to pay out of our pockets for juice/extras because they weren't included in Petit Logis' breakfast package. I would say to get the package for the room with 3 people and just order a la carte for the two of you.

Enjoy your stay at the Petit Logis! We really loved it there.
