Oxnard-Embassy Suites Mandalay
 

Not finding too many reviews on this resort, but wondering HOW are the rooms at the Embassy Suites Mandalay in Oxnard? Reviews are mixed, saying resort is great location wise, great lobby, but rooms are NOT so great (moldy smell, bad decor/furnishings, etc). Has anyone stayed here recently? Are there any rooms that have recently been updated? Thanks!

When are you going? We will be there May 15th. I will post a review after we return. I am like you after reading the reviews, but it looks nice and we want to be on the beach.

I've stayed at this hotel once - awhile back - maybe 4/5 yrs ago. Saw kirk cameron and family there. anyway, i liked it. we had a beach front view room and was great. all the rooms are suites so had a kitchen area with dining table and living area. I woulnd't say the location was great except for the beach part. It's not that close to the restaurants, etc. You will need a car.

nlg-We will be going end of June, so let me know how you liked it. The pics looks great and the location should be perfect for the beach. Leaning towards the Marriott Ventura, easier location for us since we plan to do Santa Barbara and Reagan library, won't be in room much anyway.

We stayed there last summer/fall. My SIL sugested it as she lives in the nice area adjacent.
Very large complex on the water with several buildings.
Our unit was at the end of the complex on the water.
Dislikes--it was very expensive even for the waterfront location and view..and the room was musty/moldy and confirm bad furnishings.
Balconys require sitting on bar stools to see the water over the roof.
Family next door let the kids play on balcony -- not hotels fault but VERY noisy on tile floor.
We were a long walk from the huge breakfast bar and the kids in the breakfast bar acted like heathens..not the hotels fault but not a peaceful am experience..

walk outside to beach and nice grassy park area on beach
fast on ramp to Santa Barbara

Suggest get the cheapest price possible...
