Outlet Mall in New Orleans
Has anyone shopped at the Riverwalk Outlet Mall in New Orleans. I believe it is near the convention center and downtown area.
I usually do not shop at the outlet malls, but will be in the same area and thinking of stopping there to browse and maybe shop. I would love to hear anyone's experience there. Is it worth spending time there or better to do other stuff since I can shop at any mall in the country. Thanks for your help. |
If you've seen one, you've seen the mall.

If you are looking for something specific, then maybe it's worth spending your travel time in a standard mall. For browsing in NO, I'd suggest taking the St. Charles trolley to the Garden District or Uptown and wandering along Magazine Street.

Thanks for your advice.
I have the St. Charles trolley on my list. Hope the weather cooperates and I can enjoy the outdoors fully. Have a fantastic weekend. |
I wouldn't waste a moment of time in New Orleans wandering around an outlet mall.

Malls and outlet malls are different - an outlet mall is for discounts from the manufacturers and brands (because, let's be real, the brands are not usually the manufacturers of their own wares) in their own branded stores. If you don't live near an outlet mall, it could benefit you if you really need something.
But if you're looking for a unique shopping experience, it's not at the Riverwalk. You can putter around Royal in the Quarter or Magazine in the Garden District for that. |
Forget that outlet mall, unless you have never visited one.
I have three letters for you in NOLA, if you are a dedicated discount fashion shopper: UAL. |
Wow - I didn't realize that the Riverwalk was now an outlet mall. Yuck.
I agree - not worth it. Enjoy the shops along Royal and Chartres streets. Much more interesting. Areas of Magazine street are good too. FYI - they are called "street cars!" |
