Outer Cape (Cape Cod) Hotel Suggestions
Hi - looking for hotel recommendations on the Outer/Lower Cape. Truro is probably our ideal, but Provincetown, Wellfleet, and Eastham are also cool. I'm hoping to find a beachy type of place, on the Atlantic side, with a walk to the beach. I'm not really a fan of the motels, and I'm not really a fan of the Bay side of the cape.
This would be for an anniversary, so I'm not interested in being too "close to the action" rather I'm hoping for peace and quiet and long days on the beaches. |
I don't think the accomodations as you described them exist. The Atlantic side of the Outer Cape is essentially the National Seashore.
There are some hotels (Sheraton Four Points) and many motels (which you don't like} but as far as I know these are along route 28 and too far away to walk to the beach. I could be wrong though and since this is an interesting and challenging request I will keep researching and let you know if I find something. I'm sure others will post replies also. |
Highly recommend "Cape Cod, An Explorer's Guide". Chock full of "cool" and otherwise unknown places to sleep not included in the "major" tour guides, and the dozens which aren't on the www.

Thanks for the tips guys. I've been checking out places and right now my favorite is *gasp* the Youth Hostel in Truro....I love the location, right in the dunes, but will my spouse like the sleeping arrangements?! probably not :)
I knew that this was going to be a difficult request. If anybody has more suggestions please keep them coming! |
Here is one I found, but I am not sure which side it is on. It is in Eastham. http://home.attbi.com/~capecod2000

Not that it matters to me, but be warned that the outer cape has many gay communities. My Mom and I were mistaken for a 'couple' in Provincetown. We just laughed.
