Outer Banks Marinas?

We're staying in the Outer Banks area soon. Towing a small (25 ft boat) with us. Will be staying on the boat, so looking for marinas with nice accomodations (showers, etc.). Also, are there areas where we can't take the boat to the shore? Any info on marinas south of Nags Head is appreciated! Thanks - Jen

There is a marina in Manteo, which is across the sound from Nags Head, easy access to the sound to head south.

There may also be ones in Hatteras or Rodanthe. If you want to go really south, there's always Ocracoke!

Carolyn -

Thanks for answering. I have a list of marinas I pulled off the Web; I'm wondering if you've visited any of them. Have you been to the one you mentioned and if so, how are the accomodations? Thanks!

If you'll be in Manteo, definitely check out the Roanoke Island Museum & the sailing ship. Another evening's entertainment would be "The Lost Colony." You should be able to find more information by doing a search on Roanoke Island or The Lost Colony.

Jen, I used to work in the building there, it has expensive condos on the top floors, and restaurants and shops on the first. There is also a nice inn there, and b& bs nearby.

I'm not sure of the accomodations in terms of showers, etc, but they do have power.
