Outer Banks (Hatteras)
We will be flying into Greensville, NC and driving 3 1/2 hours to Hatteras in the Outer Banks via US 64 and NC-12. We have to check out of our beach house by 10:00 AM on a Saturday and our flight does not leave Greensville until 5:30PM. Can anyone give suggestions on what to do with two teenagers for 4 hours that would be on our way back toward Greensville (off of US 64 or any town in or around Greensville).

Greenville is home to the great East Carolina University. See if something is going on there. Parker's Barbeque in nearby Wilson is famous. I haven't been there in years, but enjoyed it when I was. The towns of Washington and Belhaven are pretty as well.

You've got plenty of time for your trip to the airport but not all day.
If you're planning on leaving Hatteras early Saturday, like 8 am, then I can see how you might fit something into your return trip to Greenville. But if you're leaving in the 10am timeframe, you've got a 3.5 to 4 hour drive assuming no beach or weekend traffic. Figure an hour for lunch and you're back in Greenville by 3. Need an hour at the airport, even the dinky ones, and you don't have that much time to kill. My teen would be engaged in a variety of social networking devices during the slack (and other) times.
Sorry, I'm not much help b/c it's not my route. But I hope you have a great week at the beach!
