"outdoors" store in Naples/Ft. Meyrs area?
 

Help! We're about to leave for Costa Rica in a few days and there are some last minute items I need (a couple more pair of wicking socks and shirts, a good mosquito repellant, e.g. Green Ban, etc). I did a bunch of shopping in MD before we left-- at EMS and REI-- and it didn't occur to me that I'd have trouble finding similar stores here. Are there some that I don't know about? I know that Beall's etc sells a few Columbia clothes, but there's a very limited selection. Any "real" such stores in this area? Thank you!

I can't think of too much. There is one store in the Coastland Mall in Naples with quite a lot of travel stuff, and an outdoorsy/sporting edge to it. At the flagpole at the City Dock (not Pier) in Naples by the Dock restaurant is also an Orvis and other related items store which would probably have everything you mention.

Patrick, how far away is that Miramar Mall that is on I-75? Is that the name of the place? Seems like poss could find whatever he/she wants there. No?

It's at the Estero exit about halfway between Naples and Ft. Myers, but frankly I can't think of anyplace there that has what poss is talking about -- although it is a great place to shop for designer clothes.

The one by the dock is Everglades Angler, at the mall it's Earth Outfitters. Sports Authority ( Pine Ridge Rd and Airport) has a small selection of outdoor gear.
