One more little piece of advice: if it DOES rain, don't go on and on and on about it during the reception etc. Put it in perspective--years from now it will NOT be the most important memory you have of that day as you look at your wedding photos and reminisce about the emotions, and see the faces of the loving friends and family who joined you to celebrate.

If your guests can't stop commenting about the weather you can do the classy thing: smile and hug them and tell them that their presence at your wedding is all the sunshine you need.

My DD was married a year ago in December. She planned on cold rainy weather. She always wanted a floor length white velvet cape to wear over her wedding dress, but in So Cal, you don't always get the type of weather to warrant cold weather attire. (Velvet isn't a great fabric for rain, but dreams are dreams)

She REALLY wanted it to rain and she did get her wish. It was very cold and windy (we are in So Cal) and it rained off and on all day.

Her hair dresser made sure the style worked well in damp weather so that it didn't look limp after a couple of hours.

The parking attendants had large Golf umbrellas to help keep the guests dry when they arrived.

I think you will have a great day no matter what the weather might be.

PS: The pictures turned out great. There were patches of bright blue skies with big angry clouds in the background.

Hey all, I just have to say.....you people are amazing, I mean, I have never in my life encountered a blogging type web community such as this....everyone is soo friendly and encouraging and wonderful, I am honestly beside myself! I do realize I'm being a "bridezilla" as my wedding day fast approaches....but some of you all have been kinder and more encouraging than my own family! lol

anyhow, as we see....it's been in the 80's all week...with rain predicted for next weekend....so no chance I'm going to be able to predict or prepare either way....but I'm genuinely comforted by your comments.

thank you so very much.
