Outdoor Dining - Wedding Reception
Hi there, I'm planning a small wedding reception 80-100 people this June in Detroit. The only problem is I can't find a garden or restaurant with a great outdoor area to fit my party. Can you help suggest a place that's intimate? The search engines are not giving me what I want.

You'll have to rent and indoor place that has outdoor space because you must have an inclement weather backup.
Have you tried the local country club? What about Museums? Most museums have fabulous outdoor space. I highly suggest you hire a wedding planner. Worth every penny. |
Could I ask how wedding planners do their fees? My daughter is getting married in Milwaukee next spring, and we have the church, reception venue, and caterer, but it seems like the details are mounting and we could certainly use help.

My gay boyfriend is a wedding planner and I can tell you for certain they pay for themselves in the long run.
Depending on the size of your wedding, they get a flat fee from you. They handle all those gazillion details and most importantly, they deal with the vendors every week that you will only deal with on a one time basis. The vendors will also do more for a wedding planner because they want the repeat business. |
Hope you are still looking. The Henry Ford Estate in Dearborn may fit your needs. It was Henry and Clara Ford's house and contains immaculate gardens. http://www.henryfordestate.org/
Or have you thought about Traverse City. Many people I know have chosen to have their weddings up north and places like the Grand Traverse Resort offer a superb setting. |
