outdoor casual seafood

I am looking for a casual / outdoor /seafood /restuarant somewhere near Mystic Conn. I will have 2 small children and would like something on the water. Ideally I would like one of the roadside shacks you might see in Maine. Abbotts? Thanks

If you travel up route 1 north headed toward Stonington, there's a small seafood/takeout place with picnic tables (I'm not sure what the name of the place id though).

Yes-- go to Abbott's. Good lobster rolls and other seafood. Check out www.abbotts-lobster.com. You can also try its sister restaurant, Costello's Clam Shack, which is down the road and has fried seafood plus lobster. Both are BYOB. Have fun!

Your posting would have been so much more helpful if you had included Mystic, Conn. in the header. It would have saved a lot of people from looking who have no idea about that area.

there is a place in New London, CT called TA Scotts. It is a hole in the whole that is BYOB, but the best lobster, lobster rolls, clam rolls, etc.. there is even a kids menu with hotdogs, nuggets, etc.. you sit on the water at picnic tables. it is ALWAYS crowded so you know its great. no problem getting a table, though. the kids love it because they can throw rocks in the water and see trains go by right up the hill. (don't worry, no danger of getting near them). Enjoy!
