Our proposed itinerary for Orlando theme parks. Please add your suggestions.

I hope this message doesn't get posted twice, the site just went weird on me (again).

SUN Arrive at hotel after quick stop at
grocery store.
MON Disney World
TUE Disney World
WED Universal
THUR Sea World
FRI ?
SAT Home

I'm considering getting tickets to Mickey's Christmas Party.
Any suggestions for Friday? Maybe somewhere outside the theme parks. Not beaches as we live near one.
Thanks!

I just wanted to direct to a few other sites dedicated to Disneyworld.

www.disboards.com is a message board, you can get a lot of feedback for Mickey's C-mas Party. Everything I've read, people love it. Also, someone will answer any possible question you could have on WDW.

www.wdwig.com has lots of info, including menus with prices for all WDW restaurants

www.mousesavers.com has discounts posted for hotels, etc. Sometimes 40% off rack

If I knew if you were travelling with kids and how old, I could give some advice about your schedule. Which parks at WDW are you planning on visiting?

Have a great vacation!

I used to go to the Mickey's Christmas Party every year when I was in high school in Florida. It was always lots of fun - pretty lights and small crowds. I'm not sure how it has changed in the way of amount of people though. They used to only sell a limited amount of tickets - enough that there was no line for the rides. Occasionally we could just stay on the ride and go again. They also gave out hot chocolate and cookies.
I would definitely put that in my schedule.

Does the Universal day mean that you plan to do both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in the same day? Maybe I missed the time of year, holidays? I don't think the parks stay open too late during that time. You might not get both those parks in and do all the rides attractions.

Personally, I think you will find it very tiring to do 4 parks in 4 days. You might want to consider making Wednesday a "hang loose" day - or maybe go shopping or to a water park for 1/2 a day.

You didn't mention the ages of the people going, which does make a difference.
I would agree with a could of points made already.
I would put a theme park free day on the 3rd day - shopping, driving, anything but a theme park.
I would also agree that 1 day in Universdal is not enough, since there are 2 theme aprks to visit. If you like rides, then you HAVE TO GO to Islands of Adventure - it is curently the BEST theme park in terms of the sophisitcation of it's rides. The Spiderman ride literally is the best ride ANYWHERE in the world. The whole way that IOA is designed and executed puts it light years ahead of Disney.

Are you planning to see all Disney theme parks? They (except Animal Kingdom) will take one day each. Also, along with what the above poster said, you will miss most of the main attractions if you try to see all of Universal in one day. My family (7 of us ages 6 to 74) didn't find the parks tiring at all but you do get a good night's sleep every evening = )

I think Sea World in FL is not worth the time, especially compared to Disney and Universal. Been to both that one and CA, save Sea World for CA some other time. If your kids are older than 10, take 2 days for Universal instead of 1, they will like it even better than Disney. A few things we LOVE in Orlando is Cirque de Soleil and House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch. Friday you could go to the Kennedy Space Center if you are interested in that. I recommend Flying Fish restaurant if you are looking for food tips. Have Fun!

I disagree about Sea World not being worth visiting. I liked it better than some of the Disney parks especially their roller coaster Krakin and the shark exhibit.

Would second the vote for the Cirque du Soleil show in Downtown Disney one evening. It's awesome!

I recommend buying the Unofficial Guide to Disneyworld. It provides many helpful tips. You will see many people carrying it around.

Our family went to Disney a few years ago very early in December. The lines were short and the weather pleasant. We attended Mickey's Christmas Party and our kids loved it. (5,7 and 11 at the time.) There were cookies and hot chocolate, a beautiful parade, snow on Main Street and virtually no line on the rides. It was well worth the money especially since the parks close early at that time of year and we were able to spend the entire night there. Have fun!

Are you planning on buying park hopper passes?
Just a thought----sometimes it is nice (though not totally relaxing--)
We always maximize on the stay by sometimes doing 2-3 parks in one day.....
Animal Kindom opens an entire hour earlier than the other three parks so you can go there and do their 4-5 attraction rides (the water one is a blast and the dinasaur (indoors) one is pretty cool. Then we'd head to Magic kindom till 3 ish when it gets really crowded and relax the end of the day at Epcot or MGM which are less crowded at night. We went to Blizard beach for the first time last year and that was fabulously fun! My dad, who is kinda over the "disney magic" and just goes to humor my sister and I (and also constantly complains of a bad back) Could not get enough of the worlds fastest and highest waterslide (eventhough my 11 year old sister got scared and once was enough for her!)

Caribgirl,
Are you still checking back? Lots of advice here, but questions, as well.
What are the ages of your party? If they are kids between the ages of 4 and 12, I don't think you have enough time at the Disney parks. Your best bet are the Park Hoppers, and could easily fill four days.
I think I'd skip Sea World, and as said above, decide which one park you want to see at Universal, since one day is not enough for both. IoA is full of dare-devil roller coasters, while the original is more movie-themed.

If your into shopping and good deals, you may want to spend the afternoon at one of the many Outlet Malls around Disney & I-Drive. My personal favorite is the Belz Outlet.

If your around for Mickeys Christmas Party, then do it. I really enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, shows & parade. Tickets I think go on sale in late October/November. It is less crowded during the week, so keep that in mind.

I would also say maybe a water park (Wet N Wild, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon) but then again it may be too cold. You can never tell until you get down here.

I must add that SeaWorld is wonderful! They have added so many rides like a roller coaster and log rides.
