Ouahu, Maui and Big Island in mid-October

I know that October isn't the ideal time to visit, but that's the only time I have available. What areas should I stay in on those islands to have the best chance of dry weather?

Also, can someone please suggest beautiful hotels that aren't as pricey as the Halekulani?

I think October is one of our better months! Not likely ot be so hot and humid as the summer months. South and west sides of islands are drier.

We were on the Big Island last october (mid to end of Oct), and we had BEAUTIFUL weather. We stayed near Kona, near the volcano, and then most of our nights on the Kohala Coast. We couldn't have had better weather.

Stay on the south sides of the islands and you should be great. ITA, October is a great time.

hmmm, October is actually a nice time of year. Depending on when in October, you might catch the tail end of the Aloha Festivals.

Have you tried looking into the Starwood hotels for Oahu? These include the Sheratons, such as the Moana Surfrider and Royal Hawaiian. Expensive, but not as high as the Halekulani.
