Orso
Has anyone eaten at Orso in NYC?? How did you like it?
|
Excellent restaurant. Make reservations well in advance. Otherwise, you may be out of luck.
|
jammed before and after theatre, but if you aren't seeing a show, go during show hours and you can probably get a reservation a day or so before.
|
I love this place. I usually go for lunch, since it is very difficult to get dinner reservations. It is small, so like Howard says, make reservations well in advance.
|
I just check with a reputable NY foodie and he said this place is wonderful. He recommended making reservations for very early or later in the evening to assure a spot. I hope you are able to get in, it comes highly recommended. ***kim***

Hi
I live in NYC and have to say this resturant is horrible. It is the biggest tourist trap with bad food and terrible service.Try Vice-Verse or Patsy's. Trust me |
Wow, what an unusual comment, cindymal. One of the reasons it's so hard to get into is because of so many locals eating there constantly or at least every time they're in the theatre district.
According to Zagat's (hardly the rantings of tourists) it is "outstanding Northern Italian fare in a warm, non fussy setting" and they suggest to "call a month ahead or so and keep trying". Since you prefer the (in my opinion) overpriced red sauces of Patsy's, perhaps you simply prefer standard southern Italian to the more subtle tastes of Northern Italian? Orso could hardly be called a tourist trap, and I defy anyone to spend as much there on dinner as at Patsy's. So no, I don't "trust" you. Sorry, but I simply don't agree and obviously many other people don't either. |
Derek Jeter doesn't agree.

wow
All I can say is check it out for youself.I was lured in by that Derek Jeter com. as well. As for knowing good resturants I can assure you,I do.Everyone has different tastes.I have not been to patsy's in a long time.Let me know when you go to orso.I will be curious. |
